Changes
Indeed, I mentioned changes coming to Global Griot during the show 3/8/15. Global Griot will have a new name starting in April: Tales Well Told.
Stories are everywhere in our lives from work to school to home to our front yards to the mall. Television is a huge storyteller as it fills our heads with news stories, some true and some not. Yet all filter through us. We are our stories and the stories we tell.
More on the changes in the next weeks.
By the way, I received many positive comments about my guest on the the March 1 show, Megan Chance. She will be speaking as part of the Talking Pages Series on March 17 @ 7 p.m. at the Historic Shell Station, 232 Front St., Issaquah. I'll be there!
Michael Parent
What a pleasure having Michael on the show yesterday 11/23. He had gems of wisdom for us: what is gnawing at your main character? This helps you and your listener/reader understand the character and perhaps identify with. Truth: stories contain truth yet to tell my listener something is true, or that it happened to me when it did not is breaking an agreement with the audience. Many stories talk about our ambivalence, envy, dealing with the ones who hold power, and lack of resolution; all parts of our human condition.
Jan. 31st
I'll be in Monroe the last week-end in Jan. Who is M.C. for the 31st, and is there room on the show? Andy Offut-Irwin is a force to be reckoned with, indeed.

Sunday 1/10/10
Among other things, we'll have Andy Offutt Irwin, a show in himself and Mary telling "The Three Golden Hairs" a tale from Bohemai of love and fate and a bit of manipulation.
Thanks!
The Pledge Drive show went great this morning. Thanks to all who listened. Huge thanks to all who pledged. And amazing thanks to the kids who called in!
Late but here
Thank you very much, Bill. You were in Cairo?!
Listening On-Line in Cairo
hi Mary,
I really enjoy this show, but business often takes me away from Seattle, so imagine how exited I was when I noticed it was 9am Sunday Morning in Seattle and I could stream the show. It's a good one today with so many favorite stories too. I hope my son Liam is listening on Bainbridge Island too.
Thanks Bill
