Post-pledge drive update

Hi Folks!

The 2010 Fall pledge drive has officially come to end and the results are impressive!

Although we did not meet the total goal for this Fall, we exceeded last year's Fall pledge drive. Of course, the final results have not been tallied, so at this time I can also say the unofficial result is:

$41,169

That includes the early returns from our renewal mailing, but does not include all of the challenges.

When all is counted, I expect we'll be closing in on $50,000!

NICE WORK EVERYONE!

So, where do we go from here?

1. Please thank all your listeners for their support during our pledge drive. The message should not be that we fell short of our goal, but that THANKS TO THOSE WHO CONTRIBUTED THIS FALL, WE'VE HAD THE MOST SUCCESSFUL PLEDGE DRIVE IN 2 YEARS!

2. Remind listeners that if they haven't made a contribution, we still have some distance to go to meet our goal of regaining CPB funding. Every dollar matters more than ever this year. Gently and respectfully ask them to make a contribution online at kser.org

3. Please encourage your listeners (and your Facebook & MySpace friends) who have not already done so
to DONATE NOW.

4. We will continue with these gentle reminders for the next few weeks and then evaluate our progress before pursuing other fundraising efforts.

I had an interesting story related to me by one of our phone volunteers. She took a pledge from a listener who had been listening to another public radio station and finally had to switch because she couldn't stand how long and annoying their pledge breaks where. Then she discovered KSER for the first time, loved music and, when she heard that we were in a pledge drive, had to call because our breaks were so short and so respectful.

Thanks to everyone for your hard work and effort this Fall. I think we sounded great and were very positive on the air.

Thanks to those of you who signed up to answer phones, helped out pitching with other hosts during the drive, brought food and/or helped clean up.

A big thanks to those of you who were in pledge-central throughout the week.

Thanks to the Board members for donating so generously to the challenge fund and helping out in numerous ways.

A huge thanks to all of our volunteers who made a donation during the drive!

And thanks to Ed, Becky, Sondra and Paige for putting in so many hours and working so hard to make this a very successful drive.

We'll have more for details for you next week.

Thanks again for your hard work and your continued dedication to KSER!
