My Story: Oral Histories of Snohomish County

My Story: Oral Histories of Snohomish County records the courage, humor, trials and triumphs of the people who have shaped the history of Snohomish County.

Oral histories are critical to understanding our past in order that we may make a better future. Oral histories can be powerful and sometimes even life changing, passing on the legacy of our forebears to the next generation in a way the written word cannot.

My Story reminds us of the importance of listening to and learning from those around us and celebrates our shared humanity.

My Story interviews are made possible in part by assistance from the Snohomish County Community Heritage Program.

I was really fascinated to

I was really fascinated to listen to My Story: Oral Histories of Snohomish County and it is only when I heard about them here that I knew that such a book even existed!! It was truly fascinating to listen to the talks here and I am sure that the books will be equally interesting!! I love listening to such tales and I am sure that many will be inspired with the true stories that they listen to here, not to mention the books where we can read about it!!

Suggestion for someone to cover

Hi I was recently just thinking that someone should do a oral history with Marian Harrison, member of League of women voters and fixture in local politics in the area. As a member of one of the black pioneer families in Arlington, I think her story must be a very interesting one.
Thanks
Allison
