The Seattle Choral Company joins with musicians the world over to celebrate the Benjamin Britten Centennial in 2013. On June 8, the Seattle Choral Company will be presenting a rare performance of Benjamin Britten’s “Cantata Misericordium” (Cantata of Mercy), along with two of Britten’s a cappella choral works: “Hymn to St. Cecilia” and “Chorale after an Old French Carol.” This performance is deliberately timed for the weekend prior to the Seattle Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Britten’s “War Requiem.”   The Seattle Choral Company will present these three Britten masterworks along with two attractive new compositions by the gifted young Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo.   8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 8, 2013 Saint Mark’s Cathedral 1245 10th Ave E   Seattle, WA 98102 please call Brown Paper Tickets at (800) 838-3006 or visit www.seattlechoralcompany.org.
