This week on Classical Edge

Hi to, ya-all, (just got back from South Carolina).  Chiaroscuro, light and shade or contrasts, up and down by John Corigliano, I started to listen to it for the first time this morning. Before listening I had not looked at the complete name of the piece. So I heard these note that "severely clashed" and immediately thought there was something really amiss. The thought was, I am not going to air this because the performance was "poor". Then I read that one piano was tuned one quarter note low. This falls into the category of being a "prepared piano", but not in the same sense as John Cage did. It will take you a while to adjust your mind to this piece, but I think you will find that it fits right in to the Classical Edge style. Let me know your thoughts!!
