P-51 Ground School and Formation Clinic • When: February 8th • Where: Historic Flight Foundation, 10719 Bernie Webber Dr, Mukilteo, WA 98275 • Contact: http://historicflight.org/hf/ Back by popular demand, Stallion 51 instructor pilot and Patriots Jet Team pilot John Posson will teach a P-51 ground school and formation clinic. This training opportunity is open to aspiring pilots as well as historians and enthusiasts. The program will cover aircraft history, systems, normal and emergency procedures. HFF’s P-51B “Impatient Virgin” will be used for the pre-flight inspection. In the afternoon, John will review formation theories and rules in anticipation of the flying season. Training materials will be distributed electronically in advance of the ground school. Participation is limited to fifteen. The ground school fee of $250 includes study materials and lunch. Prior to this position, Scott worked for Boeing after a twenty-year career at the University of Washington in the department of Aeronautics and Astronautics and work at the NASA Ames Research Center in Aerothermodynamics. Sixteen hockey teams in the Division Pee Wee 'C' Recreational play four guaranteed games throughout the three-day tournament. The tournament is USA Hockey Sanctioned. 10.) In a local homegrown beauty salon, six women come together to share their secrets, fears and love for one another. They engage the audience in hysterical and neighborly gossip. Search for and find unique Glass Treasures hand-blown by Mark Ellinger, a world-renowned glass artist. Find clues and return them to the location identified inside for an authentic limited edition Glass Treasure. The Official Event Guidebook identifying where the "Clueballs" might be hidden will be available in Stanwood at A Guilded Gallery, the Snow Goose Bookstore and Windermere Real Estate, and on Camano Island at the Camano Chamber office, Camano Coffee Roasters, and the Windermere Real Estate offices starting February 10th. The festivities continue on February 22nd and 23rd with the 9th Annual Port Susan Snow Goose Festival and Birding Festival. An expected 200 adult and junior archers from California, Idaho, Oregon, Montana and Washington will be competing over the three-day event. This is the third time the regional indoor championships have been hosted at The Nock Point. This is a registered World Archery Star FITA tournament. 16.) As a member of the Museum of Flight Speakers Bureau, Bill has made many presentations on the “Golden Age of Aviation.” Perhaps more than any other, the Waco Aircraft Company exemplifies the “Golden Age.” 17.)
