Job Opening: Online Mobilizer & Membership Assistant

Job Description
The Online Mobilizer works with KSER staff to develop and implement online audience and community-building activities, including volunteer and donor cultivation. Membership Assistant works under the supervision of the Development Director to plan, implement, and manage online, on-air, and other fundraising efforts.
Duties And Responsibilities
The duties of the Online Mobilizer & Membership Assistant include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:
- Develop and implement online organizing strategies to cultivate community involvement and financial support.
- Plan & supervise development of website & other online tools & technologies.
- Support News Department in online communications and organizing initiatives.
- Maintain databases and files related to fundraising and outreach campaigns, mailing lists, memberships, and/or other related information requirements, as appropriate.
- Assist in planning and implementing membership fundraising activities, including on-air, online, mail, and other efforts.
- Participate as a member of the staff in ongoing station operations and long-range planning.
- Assist in development of budgets and timelines for above activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Abilities, Skills, And Knowledge Required
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability & experience working effectively with a wide range of constituencies in diverse multi-ethnic, multi-cultural communities.
- Demonstrated skill & experience carrying out sustainable online fundraising.
- Skill & experience in current fundraising strategies, techniques, tools, and available resources (familiarity with public radio preferred.)
- Demonstrated skills & experience in using & administering modern content management systems (experience with Drupal a plus).
- Demonstrated skill & experience in sustained online organizing and fundraising, including use of social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) & other emerging technologies.
- Records maintenance and database management skills.
- Ability to train, supervise and motivate volunteers, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to foster a supportive, cooperative work environment.
Details
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, with at least 3 years related to the duties and responsibilities specified above.
- Hours somewhat flexible, but weekdays, 2pm – 4:30pm required
Compensation
- This position is part-time (20 hours/wk)
- Salary is $14,000.
- Annual COLA & performance-based compensation.
- Benefits are not included at this time.
- 2 weeks paid vacation each year.

Working Conditions And Physical Effort
- Work takes place in the KSER offices in downtown Everett in Snohomish County and in the surrounding communities of Snohomish and Island Counties.
- No or very limited physical effort required.

KSER is a small station, office space is limited, and staff size is small (you will be one of 5 paid staff). KSER is a community radio station, and uses over 65 volunteers to produce the majority of our programming. You will work closely with a range of individuals and personalities every day.
