Special Events"Ignore No More" Forum on Women's Legal Rights Zonta Club of Everett and 90.7 KSER Community Radio co-sponsor a public forum on women's legal rights, May 7th, from 12:00pm-1:30pm at the Everett Golf & Country Club. In 2007, women in most countries of the world still cannot claim legal rights equal to those of men. The United State is the only industrialized nation in the world that has not ratified the United Nations Convention to Eliminate All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). The Zonta Club of Everett, whose mission is to promote the status of women worldwide through service and advocay, is sponsoring this forum to educate our community about the current condition of the legal rights of women. Universal Health Care Public Forum KSER and the Snohomish County League of Women Voters present a forum on Universal Health Care: What Should It Be and How Do We Get It? The forum will be held at the Everett Theatre on Saturday, April 26, 2008, from 1:30 to 4:30 P.M. The free forum is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Snohomish County and is intended to provide both information and opportunity for public input. Featured panelists include: John Geyman, M.D., Professor Emeritus of Family Practice, U.W. School of Medicine; Grant Hendrickson, Ph.D., former Trustee of Group Health Cooperative; Don Howard, M.D., Ph.D., Chairman of Cellnetix Laboratories, Seattle; and Kathleen O'Connor, founder and CEO of CodeBlueNow!, a national organization that advocates for universal health care and analyzes health care systems worldwide.
