Roger Yockey talks with Calvin Robinson. Mr. Robinson is a 40-year veteran of Boeing and a career-long member of the professional union, SPEEA. He talks about the historical and contemporary role African-Americans have played in Boeing’s history and the union.

Worker Organizations in Olympia - Mon 6pm

Three representatives of workers and worker organizations in Olympia explain their key goals for the session and how they think the NOT ONE MORE DIME campaign will affect their goals. The NOT ONE MORE DIME campaign is a reaction by the many in our state labor movement to the lack of support from state democrats who received significant financial support from labor as well as hundreds of hours of volunteer effort in the 2008 campaigns.

Interview w/Maro Mura Villalpando - Mon 6pm

Roger Yockey interviews Maro Mura Villalpando (Vee yall pawn doe), an organizer with the Washington Community Action Network. The subject is the status of immigrants, treatment of immigrants, and legislation promoting reform of US policy on immigration. Included in the program is a Short Shot commentary by William Johnston, and music, including Woody Guthrie's song DEPORTEES, sung by Cisco Houston, Anne Feeney singing A SONG FOR SANTIAGO CRUZ and BRAVE NEW CHRISTMAS from her album Dump the Bosses Off Your Back.
 

Dance and Workers in the Depression - Mon 6pm

Roger Yockey talks with Betsy Coope, Chair of the Dance Program at the University of Washington. She tells the unusual story of WPA dancers being brought into the workplace during the depression to improve the lives of workers.  Produced by Ross Reider and Roger Yockey. This program looks at the role unions have played and are playing in the 21st Century workplace.

WORKPLACE INJURIES: ARE THEY BEING REPORTED ? MAYBE, MAYBE NOT

Host Roger Yockey reports that in this dismal economy, concern exists regarding whether workplace accidents and injuries are being fully reported, or minimized and covered. Join Roger as he discusses this question with Vicki Smith, Project Help, Washington Labor Council.   Next, An interview with a young Canadian worker about his workplace injury story.   And last, if time permits, an exciting and rousing commentary by firebrand Bill Johnston.         If you are a worker in Washington state, you must hear this program !

The Future of Apprentice Programs MONDAY 6-6:30PM

Part of the Union - Jobs are being outsourced, money for education is being cut and fewer people seem to want to be blue collar. What is the future of apprentice programs in the trades. Guest Robert Markholt, director of the Seattle Vocational Institute, a division of Seattle Community College, talks about young workers and the future of apprentice programs in the trades.
